Usambara Mountain

Drive time: 6–7 hours from Moshi / 7–8 hours from Arusha

Depart in the morning and drive to the charming town of Lushoto in the West Usambara Mountains. The route passes through sisal plantations, local farms, and scenic hills. Arrive in the afternoon, settle into a local guesthouse or lodge, and enjoy a short walk in the area.

Start with a hike through Magamba Rainforest, home to black-and-white colobus monkeys, chameleons, and unique birdlife. Pass the historical German trench from World War I. Continue through farming villages, tea plantations, and rolling hills to the village of Malindi.
