Leave Moshi / Arusha in the morning for a scenic drive to Marangu Village, the gateway to the Marangu Waterfall. The village is located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Highlights:

• Scenic drive through local villages, banana plantations, and lush greenery

Hiking time: 1–1.5 hours

Arrive at the starting point and begin the easy hike to Marangu Waterfall. The well-maintained trail takes you through the lush tropical forest, where you’ll be surrounded by dense vegetation, giant tree ferns, and occasional wildlife such as monkeys and birds.

At the Waterfall:

• Spend time relaxing by the waterfall, which cascades down the cliffs into a crystal-clear pool below.
• Enjoy the cool, refreshing water by taking a dip in the natural pool or simply sitting by the waterfall to take in the scenery.

Optional Activities:

• Take photographs of the beautiful surroundings
• Enjoy a picnic lunch by the waterfall
• Explore the local area and learn about the village’s culture

Drive time: 1 - 2 hours

After enjoying the waterfall and surrounding nature, begin your hike back to the village. From here, you’ll drive back to Moshi in the afternoon. The day trip offers an opportunity to experience the local culture and natural beauty of the Marangu region.
